Editorial independence

Offensive X separates editorial judgment from commercial influence. Clients, sponsors, partners, vendors, and advertisers may suggest topics or provide information, but they do not receive an undisclosed right to dictate conclusions, suppress relevant criticism, or approve independent editorial coverage.

Material conflicts

Authors and reviewers should disclose financial, professional, personal, or organizational interests that could reasonably affect—or appear to affect—their judgment. Examples include employment, consulting, investments, board roles, close relationships, gifts, paid travel, and active commercial negotiations connected to the subject.

Sponsored content

Paid or sponsored material must be clearly labeled so readers can distinguish it from independent editorial content. The nature of the sponsor relationship should be disclosed near the content. Sponsorship does not permit false claims, hidden endorsements, fabricated evidence, or the removal of material safety and risk information.

Products and services

Offensive X may publish content about technologies or services that we provide, implement, resell, integrate, or partner around. When that relationship is material to the topic, the content should state it clearly. Recommendations must be based on the reader's needs and the available evidence, not solely on commercial benefit.

Gifts and incentives

Writers and editors should not accept cash, expensive gifts, or personal benefits offered in exchange for favorable coverage. Reasonable access to demonstrations, evaluation environments, briefings, or review materials may be accepted when necessary to assess a product, provided it does not compromise editorial judgment.

Affiliate links and referrals

If a link or referral may generate compensation for Offensive X, that relationship should be disclosed. Compensation does not change the price paid by a reader unless explicitly stated, and it does not guarantee a favorable assessment.

Managing a conflict

Depending on the circumstances, a conflict may be disclosed, independently reviewed, reassigned to another author, or considered too significant for publication. Readers may report an undisclosed concern through our Contact page. Confirmed omissions are corrected under our Corrections Policy.
