AI-Assistance Policy
Human accountability
Offensive X may use artificial-intelligence tools to support limited parts of research, outlining, transcription, editing, summarization, translation, or quality checking. A human editor remains responsible for every published Insight and for the accuracy, relevance, originality, safety, and tone of the final content.
Permitted assistance
AI tools may help organize notes, identify questions for further research, improve readability, produce alternative wording, check consistency, or summarize material that the author is authorized to use. AI output is treated as an unverified draft, not as a source of truth.
Required verification
Factual claims generated or transformed with AI must be checked against reliable sources. Citations must be opened and verified; fabricated or mismatched citations are prohibited. Technical examples must be reviewed for correctness, security, and relevance. Sensitive decisions are not delegated to an automated system without qualified human review.
Prohibited uses
We do not knowingly publish unreviewed AI-generated articles, invented quotations, fabricated sources, synthetic evidence presented as real, impersonation, plagiarism, or content designed to mislead readers about its origin. Confidential client information, credentials, private source material, and personal data must not be entered into external AI services unless an approved agreement and appropriate safeguards are in place.
Disclosure
We disclose material AI assistance when it is important to understanding how an Insight was produced—for example, when AI generated a substantial portion of an analysis, image, translation, dataset, or experimental result. Routine spelling, grammar, formatting, or editorial assistance does not normally require a separate disclosure.
Images and media
AI-generated or materially altered media must not be presented as documentary evidence. Where synthetic media could reasonably be mistaken for a real event, person, product, or result, it should be clearly identified.
Corrections
AI involvement does not reduce our responsibility. Errors are handled under the same Corrections Policy as all other content, and recurring failures may lead to changes in approved tools or workflows.
